How we prepare and review our articles

How Herante prepares and reviews information about ECE R150, R48, conspicuity marking, product approval and national vehicle inspections.

ECE R150 Knowledge is an independent information platform operated by Herante. Its articles are written for fleets, bodybuilders, workshops and buyers who need to turn regulation into a traceable working practice.

Our editorial team

Articles are prepared and checked by Rob, Dimmy, Etienne, Desiree and Sandra. Every article names the person responsible for its editorial preparation and a different person who carried out the technical review.

From primary source to practical guidance

  1. The editor defines the question, vehicle category, application and market covered by the article.
  2. We consult primary sources, including UNECE documents, EUR-Lex and official national inspection information.
  3. We keep product approval under R150 separate from installation requirements under R48.
  4. A second team member checks the technical explanation, thresholds, exceptions, colours and source references.
  5. After review, the article receives a publication or revision date and is made available in the relevant languages.

Sources and updates

Where possible, we link directly to the official text of UN Regulation No. 150, documents relating to UN Regulation No. 48 and the competent national authority. Relevant official changes trigger a review and update of affected articles.

Independence and corrections

This knowledge base is not a publication of, or endorsed by, the United Nations or UNECE. It supports preparation and product selection but does not replace current legislation or a decision by the competent inspection authority.

If you find a technical error or an outdated source, please use our contact page. We will check the report and correct the article where necessary.
